Led by Fatih Erdem Baştan and continuing research activity under TESLAB, the BIO-TESLAB group, we focus on developing orthopedic and dental biomaterials and transfer our laboratory experiences and theoretical knowledge procured from the materials science field to the industry. We target translating the developed materials into the clinic by establishing synergy with the other disciplines.
Our latest research has been published in Applied Materials Today, a leading journal in the Materials Today family. In this study, we mimicked the hierarchical structure of nacre by incorporating platelet hydroxyapatite particles within the chitosan matrix coatings. We thank our collaborators, Prof. Aldo Roberto Boccacc…
We are contributing to Dr. Derya Kırsever's project, funded by Tübitak's 3510 program, titled "Fabrication and Multiphysical Characterisation of New Glass/Ceramic Composites for Low Temperature Co-Fired Ceramic (LTCC) Materials Used in the Production of Multilayer Electronic Circuit Substrates by Developing …
Starting from their third year, our students who worked as volunteer members of the BIO-TESLAB group have successfully defended their theses and graduated: Damla Usta with her thesis titled "The Effect of Raw Materials on the Thermal Stability of Hydroxyapatite", and Büşra Çağla Gölge and Ya…
